March 29, 2010

This is one of my favorite photos I've taken this year. It's like some kind of crazy weird body hair, or a capillary system, or fall, or a map of alternate universes.

MK's excellent production design, margaritas at one Mexican place, dinner at a different Mexican rice. I had the most amazing rice: yellow rice with corn, spicy avocado drizzled on top and crispy garlic slices. I could have just had a bowl of that rice and been happy (though my tuna was delicious).

Reorganized my bookshelves - so satisfying in a frustrated librarian kind of way. Plus, I had help!

Beware the Ides of March. Beware proofreading. Beware bran muffins and roasted root vegetables. Not really, the last two are both pretty great.

Undocumented Afghani food and an end to waiting to see. More dead umbrellas.

March 13, 2010

Today was the death-of-umbrellas day. Also an unbearable waiting day. I also restrained from putting a different picture, which might have been more interesting, but felt wrong.

The weird thing about taking a red-eye is that you have the whole entire day beforehand to think about your flight that not (or to not think about it). I walked up and down Missisippi, had tacos and pastries with Gillian, walked up and down Alberta, had a crazy Market Spice tea while it snowed outside. Gillian and I went to the Rhododendron garden across the street from Reed (which was a weird physical space reminder - I remembered it from over ten years ago, what if I'd gone to Reed?), saw a bunch of crazy ducks: mallards, wigeons, wood ducks, buffleheads and some dumb Canada geese. It was windy, there was snow in the air and cherry blossoms in the air too. Then we had pizza. Then I left. Then time collapsed on the airplane.

Brunch at the Screen Door, biking to Happy Knit, Sunday dinner.

March 6, 2010

Hiking in Mt. Tabor park alone, a secret view of Mt. Hood (that's probably not so secret - it's huge!) Por que no? tacos, food trucks, movies, voodoo doughnuts and pix.

Today I learned about Katamari. I love you Katamari.

Dinner at Northern Spy with Jess and Dave - a crazy elliptical machine man in his own home. And a good/bad conversation.

Dear Blog: a special notice

I'm going on vacation for a few days, and, while I will most certainly take a photo every day (probably more) I'm not sure I'll be able to post. It's hard to post from my phone, and I am not bringing the cable for my camera. But fear not, loyal readers named Jessica, I'll post upon returning the full glory of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. And maybe Tuesday if I'm not asleep all day after my red-eye flight.

Last night I did the anxious-lady cleaning the house thing. I cleaned the hell out of my stove at 11:30 pm, changed the sheets, did the dishes. Today I am less anxious and much more organized in the kitchen area.
